Hurghada: Orange Island Speedboat & Sunset Quad with Lunch
Snorkel the Giftun Islands National Park by private speedboat, then ride a quad into the desert for Bedouin tea, a camel ride and sunset over the mountains. One day, both halves of the Red Sea coast - buffet lunch, park entry fees and Hurghada hotel transfers included.
Overview
You booked a beach holiday, but the map keeps nagging at you: a national park of islands on one side, three hundred kilometres of open desert on the other. This is the day you stop choosing. Pickup is at 08:30, and by the time the sun is properly up you are watching the marina shrink behind a speedboat that is yours alone.
The boat drops you at Orange Island and the day narrows to what is in front of you. You put your face in the water over the reef and the surface world - the boat, the beach, the hour - simply stops reporting in. Two hours on white sand and the clock loses its grip entirely; buffet lunch arrives on board and you eat it with salt still drying on your arms.
Then the boat turns for the marina and you swap one silence for another. Most visitors here pick a side - reef or dune - and go home with half the picture. Doing both in a single day shows you how narrow the living strip of this coast really is: a few hundred metres of water where everything happens, and behind it, mountains that have never bothered with any of it.
The quad is yours for two hours, out through the Bedouin village where the tea is poured strong and sweet and a camel takes you the slow way round. You will be back at your hotel after dark, sunburnt and dust-lined and quieter than you left. The last thing you see is the sun going down between the mountains, and it will be the part you describe first when someone asks about Egypt.
